In a New Year’s Eve soiree that made up for the long wait, Amanda and Tyler celebrated their wedding.
The wedding reception then transitioned into a countdown as they danced the night away with friends
and family into 2022. The Mayflower Hotel in Washington DC was the perfect setting for this classic DC
affair. The sleek and chic black bridesmaids’ dresses popped on both the balcony of the Mayflower’s
bridal suite and the Jefferson Memorial, the perfect setting for wedding portraits.

Amanda and Tyler’s love story started like any true DC love story begins – at a political fundraiser. It
was just a typical work day. Amanda was dreading heading out to a Washington football game for a
work event when Tyler walked through the door with the tickets. Suddenly, the game didn’t seem so
bad! That evening, Amanda talked him into giving her a ride home, during which he asked her out on
their first date.

Amanda selected the perfect combination of classic and trendy details for their wedding. Even the
ladies’ pajamas worn while getting ready were chic and on-trend! Hemmed in flirtatious feathers, the
bridesmaids toasted to the day ahead in matching sets. Amanda wore a form-fitting silk dress backed
with a modern bow. The reception space was overflowing with white floral arrangements, featuring calla
lilies, tulips, and white roses. The four-tier wedding cake was a crisp white, studded with white pearl-
esque elements.

One of my favorite parts of the night was noticing the expression on Amanda’s face as she watched Tyler
twirl his mom around the dance floor. She brought her hands to her face, took a content breath in, and
looked overjoyed at the moments being shared on the dance floor. After the dance floor opened,
Amanda changed into a 1920’s-inspired, fringe gold reception dress. This short and festive look shifted
the tone as the live band carried the party closer and closer to the new year. The wedding reception
concluded at midnight, complete with a countdown, champagne pop, and confetti canons!
