Parisian Inspired St. Regis Wedding Featured in Washingtonian Wedding

Enamored with Paris and each other, Sam and Clay imagined a chic Parisian wedding as they ended their
European vacation in 2019, returning engaged and excited! They spent that Thanksgiving overseas
touring venues and booking vendors in Paris. Sam even had a custom dress designed in Israel by Galia
L’hav. We all know the following years were less than ideal for weddings abroad. Their romantic Paris
destination wedding dreams were replaced with multiple backup plans, three sets of wedding
invitations announcing new dates, and lots of compromises. Their wedding day finally came together in
October 2021: an old-world meets modern-day DC wedding hosted at the St. Regis hotel, a venue
reminiscent of their original Paris selection.

Bringing Paris vibes to downtown DC

Veronica Reilly with White Dress Black Tie Events worked hard to make their vision come true,
regardless of the amount of changes. Sam and Clay’s wedding featured light and airy installations of pink
and white baby’s breath and twinkling fairy lights throughout, a nod to whimsical Paris nights. Even the
beading in Sam’s custom wedding gown reinforced themes of whimsy and fairytales. The St Regis Hotel’s
lofty ceilings studded with statement chandeliers and decadent carved beams brought the old world feel
to this modern DC soirée. A string quartet for the ceremony and jazz trio at cocktail hour brought luxury
and liveliness to the gated, private courtyard in the center of downtown DC.

A DC celebration worth the wait

Sam and Clay shared a first look outside the gates of St. Regis. From there, we headed to the
Jefferson Monument for wedding party portraits. The off-white and gold tones in her custom beaded
gown popped perfectly again the crisp white backdrops around the national mall.

When it came time to celebrate, these two brought the energy! Their friend and DJ, Ryan Mosel,
announced their entrance with blasts from CO2 canons to get the party started. Even their special
dances with their parents were full of energy, emotion, and lots of laughter. After all, they’d been
through, you could tell they were so happy to finally be here and married.
