Eva and Jeff threw the most intimate and thoughtful destination wedding celebration in beautiful Negril, Jamaica! These two sweethearts met back in high school and dated through college. Their friends and family got to attend their rehearsal dinner, witness their wedding, and explore Jamaica together afterwards. I was thrilled to get to join them for several days of wedding fun too!
After a touching rehearsal dinner and many toasts–and shots–in honor of our couple, we woke up to gorgeous weather at Azul Beach for their wedding day. Waking up in a tropical paradise and pouring champagne with your best friends is definitely a great way to start your wedding day!
I was swooning over Eva’s elegant, blush, and champagne details. Every choice she made–from her dress and beautiful teardrop earrings, down to the invitations and place settings–she put a touch of her sweet personality in her wedding. The robes she picked out for her bridesmaids even coordinated with the incredible blush bridal bouquet! Pops of deep green from the palm leaves brought her tropical-meets-upscale aesthetic vision to life. Their florals included natural, tropical elements like ivory orchids, the king protea flower, and large palm leaves, which also made their appearance in the invitation suite.
After Eva slipped into her dress, we took her to meet up with Jeff for a very emotional, tear-filled first look. This gave them a moment to take in the importance and excitement of the day together in private before standing in front of their friends and family.
Their deep connection with each other and with their privileged guests was evident throughout the ceremony, as emotions ran high amongst the bride, groom, wedding party, and guests. Their ceremony took place on the beach and featured a stunning circular arch brimming with orchids and palms! As Jeff and Eva said “I do,” the sun began to set, creating the most romantic seaside ceremony ambiance. They could not have planned it better, and as their photographer, I was looooving the golden light.
We got to continue to soak in the sunset at their rooftop cocktail hour and reception at the Azul Beach resort. After raising a glass to Jeff and Eva and welcoming them in as husband and wife, the DJ kept us dancing and celebrating all night long! There may have been a few guests cursing the DJ for encouraging them to celebrate so hard as we headed out on our group boating trip the next morning, but it was totally worth it to be a part of this lively and heartwarming celebration.
I felt so spoiled getting to call this trip work! If there’s any positive side to the COVID pandemic, it’s that I get the opportunity to photograph more intimate micro weddings and sweet elopements. I am so blessed to be a wedding photographer and work with sweet couples like Eva and Jeff!
